Hello lovelies,
So today’s episode is a special one. Because this episode is out on Xmas day. I told my other half I was recording this for xmas day and he likened it to the Queen’s Speech, which made me chuckle.
I don’t actually expect any of you to tune in on xmas to listen to this…I wanted to have it here for you, for when you do have time – and here for you, for the future…to always be able to come back to…
Because this episode is going to be particularly helpful for when you are feeling low, or uninspired, or negative in your business, or just feeling a bit meh in your life. Because it should help you get out of that emotional state…and into, if not a magical state of mind, then at least a slightly better feeling state instead.
There was a study done recently, that found that it’s actually more important to get out of a negative state and into a more neutral one, rather than go from neutral to bouncing off the walls positive. And I think thank goodness, because it’s a lower bar we have to reach.
Now I’ve never shied away from talking about the challenges of entrepreneurship, and how hard it can be sometimes. And how we have a ton of mindset challenges to overcome – in order to build the successful business, and life we want…there is fear, and doubt, and overwhelm, and confusion, and frustration…and so many more negative emotions that we will inevitably experience as business owners…
And when we are really in it – and feeling those crappy feelings, sometimes it can be really hard to pull ourselves back out on our own. And obviously that is where having a coach comes into its own. Because if we don’t have help, we tend to just swim around in those crappy feelings for longer than we need to.
But one tactical way of pulling ourselves out of our funk, is to redirect our brain to focus on anything else other than what is making us feel miserable…
But that can be challenging on our own – because our brain likes to ruminate on all the negative thinking – and isn’t easy to redirect on our own…
So this episode is going to act as your passive coach, until you hire me, to help you redirect to a more positive place.
Now this isn’t going to be a substitute for getting proper therapeutic help if you need it, if you are depressed, say, or even if you have some deeper issues to work through with a coach – this isn’t going to address the underlying issues that need to be looked at.
But there is no harm in doing this exercise – it’s actually very good for your brain, even if you are struggling with some deeper issues, to take a break from strengthening the usual pathways that you will be strengthening when you are in that struggle zone.
So view it as a temporary release from focusing on your problems. A temporary break from swimming in your struggles.
And for many of you, if you are dealing with just the normal human range of negative emotions – you can expect to have this redirection exercise pull you out of your funk and into a more resourceful grounded neutral state to move forward with.
So it’s super simple – I want you to just grab a notebook and pen, make yourself a cup of coffee, and find somewhere comfy and quiet to do this…
And then you are going to go through and answer each of the 25 questions I’m going to read out to you.
Don’t try to perfect the answers. Don’t spend hours on each one. Just jot down a few things that come to mind right away – a couple of minutes max on each question. And for the questions that make you think of the same things, push your brain to add a few more different things to the list.
So let’s give yourself one hour, to do the 25 questions. What have you got to lose?
- What and who are you grateful for in life right now?
- What are you grateful to your past self for?
- What adventures have you had so far that you are so grateful for having had?
- What are some of your favourite memories?
- What are some of the times where you have laughed so hard, you cried?
- What are some of your favourite trips or days out?
- What epic experiences have you had to date?
- What are some of the things you’ve achieved or accomplished to date?
- What are you so proud of yourself for achieving?
- What are you so proud of yourself for overcoming?
- What do you love about your life right now?
- What do you love about yourself right now?
- What do you love about this time of year?
- What do you love about your business?
- What things fill your cup and light up your soul?
- What are some healthy habits that you already do?

- What are you naturally good at?
- What makes you smile?
- What makes you laugh?
- What were some of the good things that happened in this past year? And;
- What are you looking forward to next year?
That’s it. 25 questions that should help boost your mood, raise your spirits, or at least help distract you and give you some respite for a minute from the lows you might be feeling in this journey called entrepreneurship and life.
If you are listening during this Xmas period, Happy Xmas – sending you all the love. And any time in the future, please reach out if you need more support than this to keep you living in a life that you love.
See you next time.
